Rain Dampens Friday Winternationals

Rain moved onto the grounds at East Bay Raceway Park at 5:45 p.m. as drivers were gathering for the pre-show drivers’ meeting. Persistent showers forced cancellation of the night’s program 30 minutes later.

The Saturday night racing format will be similar to the Thursday night agenda. All drivers will be required to run their heats in the 360 Sprints to qualify for the Saturday A-main. Points accumulated on Thursday will no longer have relevance to feature lineups (no drivers are automatically locked in for Saturday).

There is no make-up for the Friday program. The Saturday show will begin with drivers’ meeting at 5:45, hot laps at 6 and racing at 7 p.m.

The Saturday, Feb. 15 program will be the final night of action for the 2020 Winternationals. There were two rainouts, both on Friday this year.

East Bay Raceway Park’s regular season will open on Saturday, March 7.
