Weekend Racing Cancelled

The weekend program at East Bay Raceway Park (August 30, 31 and Sept. 1) has been completely cancelled due to wet grounds and the prospect of further deteriorating conditions brought on by potential rain. On Monday, the track site was drenched with over four inches of rain with another inch added on Tuesday. Existing conditions make certain areas needed for operation impassable due to poor drainage.

Because of the prospect of competitors travelling long distances, the decision was made in advance. The program will not be rescheduled.

East Bay will return to action on Saturday, September 7 with scheduled events for Gagel’s Modifieds, V-8 Warriors, Mod Lites and Gladiators. Racing on Sept. 14 includes a 60-lap main for 604 Late Models plus regular events for Street Stocks, Outlaw 4s, Gladiators and Florida Old Time Modifieds.

Special events include the Don Rehm Classic for Top Gun Sprints (Sept. 21), the Rusty Dixon Memorial (Oct. 5) and the Grand Finale for Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models (Oct. 10-12). A regular program is also scheduled for Sept. 28.
